Detailed steps of stainless steel mirror polishing process
1. Coarse grinding
The stainless steel pipes to be polished on the double-head polishing machine are repeatedly polished with 80# or 120# abrasive belts until the pits on the surface of the steel pipes are flat. The purpose is to initially remove local depressions, solder joints left by welding, collisions and deep scratches.
2. Second coarse grinding
Use the 180# abrasive belt to grind the coarsely ground stainless steel product pipe, and polish the lines made by the 120# abrasive belt. Make the steel pipe free from scratches and collisions. During the polishing process, pay attention to the inclination angle of the belt machine and control the pressure of the belt machine on the welded pipe.
3. Semi-fine grinding
After the second coarse grinding, the stainless steel pipe is polished with 240# abrasive belt, and the lines polished with 180# abrasive belt are polished off. This process is mainly to correct the seams of the previous process, and further finely grind the traces produced after the second rough grinding, so that the surface will be free of scratches and basically brighten. Be careful not to create new scratches and damage in this process, as such defects cannot be repaired in the latter process.
4. Fine grinding
Use the 320# abrasive belt to grind the semi-finishing stainless steel pipe, and polish the lines produced by the 240# abrasive belt. The goal of this process is to make the seam between the ground part and the non-ground part basically disappear, and the surface is brighter.
5. Secondary fine grinding
Use the 400# abrasive belt to grind the finely ground stainless steel welded pipe, and polish the lines of the 320# abrasive belt. The workpiece ground by this process is basically close to the mirror effect.
6. Half light
Use the hemp wheel to repeatedly polish the secondary fine grinding product 4~5 times. During the polishing process, polish it with polishing white wax, which can remove the lines of 400# abrasive belt polishing.
7. Light
Use a cloth wheel to repeatedly polish semi-bright stainless steel products 4 to 5 times. During the polishing process, use stainless steel mirror green wax to polish to obtain a mirror effect, and the mirror reflectance can reach 6K or 8K.
